About this calculator. It is general guidance, not a payslip. The figures are estimates based on selected 2026 federal and state publications and modeled assumptions. Sources, interpretations and code may be incomplete or wrong, and the result should not be relied on as an exact calculation of tax, payroll or anything else. Your employer knows things this page cannot: a mid-year rate change, a benefit deduction, a garnishment, a local tax, or what it has already withheld this year. Nothing here is tax, legal or financial advice, and using it creates no professional relationship. For anything that turns on the exact number, ask an accountant or a qualified adviser. Questions people ask
How is my take home pay worked out?+
Under its default assumptions, the model annualizes your hourly rate and weekly hours over 52 weeks, then applies the federal, FICA and state rules currently represented. Medicare is generally 1.45% of Medicare-taxable wages, with Additional Medicare above the applicable withholding threshold. Benefits, year-to-date wages and other payroll facts can change the result.
Why is my real payslip different?+
Three usual reasons. Your employer withholds from a W-4 that may claim credits or extra withholding. Many cities and counties levy an income tax that is not included here. And pre-tax items such as health premiums lower Social Security and Medicare too, which a single number cannot tell us about.
How many paychecks will I get?+
A standard annual conversion uses 52 weekly, 26 biweekly, 24 semi-monthly or 12 monthly periods. An employer's calendar can contain an additional weekly or biweekly payday, and its treatment depends on the payroll schedule.
